Lycanthropy
The moving of the train woke me up. I was cold, but I was quickly warmed up by the pride I had for my generosity. Gabriel, the man that I had given my overshirt to, was asleep. How could you sleep through that? He must be used to it. I was staring at him, and I noticed a tattoo on his back. I have never seen it before, but then again he is usally facing me at all times. Then he woke up screaming. I ran to him and covered his mouth.
"Silence, if they hear you screaming they'll come in here with the hose!"
He became quiet. I am still amazed that a single word, could tranquilize a man. I had been in there for about a week, I was already getting used to the torturous handling of this circus' passengers.
The door creaked open, it was lunch time. Bread and left over meat from the previous show, was served up on a plate. Gabriel asked the guard for the date.
"Its the 24th, what for?" he replied
"Nothing, just want to know"
"Okay, have a nice day" the guard laughed and exited the car.
Gabriel's eyes grew big with fear.
"Whats wrong Gabriel?" I asked.
His reply shocked me to the core:
"Its the 24th, tonight is a full moon...."
"So.."
"I must not have told you. Every full moon I change a little bit."
"Is it one of those seasonal weather depression things?"
"No, much worse"
"What happens when the Moon becomes full?"
"Well....."
"Yes??"
Gabriel grew silent. I grew angry, and started to shake him.
"Okay, OKAY!" he yelled ", I am a... were-wolf"
"A what?"
"A were-wolf, you know a lycanthrope, wolfman?"
"I thought those things didnt exist.."
"Well, its not a legend. I was bit along time ago... I used to work for the circus. I was cleaning up the elephant pens, and what I thought was a stray dog, came up to me. I fed it some of my sandwich I had in my pocket. I turned around thinking it was going to leave. That was the last time I turned around as a human."
I was startled, I became scared.
"Dont worry, " he said, "it can be remedied. There is a man in this carnival, who has been trying to tame me, and use in me in the circus as "The Wolf Man"
He has yet to figure out the formula. I know the correct formula. The result, however, is only temporary. "
I was confused, "What is the point of all this..."
"I am getting there!" he replied.
I became silent again.
"Tonight is a full moon, yes? It is also the night of the circus' Luna festival. A celebration of the moon. I curse the orb of light. The festival is a time for escape. You will help me overcome this handicap, and I will help you get out of here, as well as I."
"Okay what do I do?"
I continued to walk, I kept as silent as possible. Gabriel told me that the car of the Scientist was 3 down from the prison car. Two down, 1 car to go. I walked over to open the third car door, and I spotted a man. He shouted to me, I ran behind a cabinet of sorts.
"Hey, guy.. why aren't yooooooooooooooooo--" he said in a drunken blur. The cutting off at the end of his sentence, was also the end of his stupor. He passed out in the car ahead of me.
I was cautious but fast, the sun was getting lower. I went into the final car. It looked like a mad scientists lab. Scattered sketches of inventions and drawings of things I couldnt even imagine.
There was a cabinet, just like the one in the previos car, I assumed that the things I needed was in it. I opened the door, and found a multi-colored dream land of sorts, full of chemicals I couldn't even pronounce.
"Fredrick's Might --------------Got it!
Green Herb # 5---------------------------Got it!
now for the last thing on the list, Wolf's Bane................................................... ..........................................................................................
.................................................................................................WHERE IS IT?" I slammed my hand on the cabinet. A seperate drawer came open, it was more like a secret drawer. I spotted a small vial of grey material. I spun the bottle around..... there it was. I felt like a kid, after finding all of the easter eggs. I was the champion. I ran back to the Cell car, I was racing the Sun. I was winning that too.

I was past the first door, I looked back and saw the body of the unconscious guard that had brought me dinner, and the key. The bearded lady apparently had gone to the Luna festival. I spotted a holster on the bed post, I grabbed the gun. I cracked open the barrel, accessing the place where the ammo was held. Empty. I pocketed the gun.

I was running. I looked back, and saw the train ablaze. My face was covered by a wide smile. A smile of relief, and a smile of happiness. Gabriel was running next to me. I had no idea where I was going, but I didnt care.
